5 Explorer Scouts and 2 Leaders from 2nd Penparcau went along to Awesome 2007 at Crickhowell. They joined up with 350 other Welsh Explorers. We arrived just before it went dark and spent the next hour setting up camp. Evening entertainment on the Friday night was a Disco. Camp was officially opened on Saturday morning by Rhys Fowler and the Wales Explorer Scout Commissioner, he was also responsible for running the canoeing activity. The camp was set up into 4 subcamps Water, Air, Earth and Water, we were in Earth, we had 2 zones to visit in the morning and two zones in the afternoon. Canoeing, inflatable 5-a-side football, and rock climbing was done in the morning amongst other things. In the afternoon we did archery, shooting and skining and cooking rabbits. We had a campfire in the evening and a karaokee and disco. Sunday involved sixteen different team games Earth came second. We all had a really great time meeting new people and have adopted a hockey stick as our new flagpole/mascot: we will definetly want to go to AWESOME 2009
