Ceredigion Centenary Camp September 2007

Photos

Last weekend Ceredigion Scouts and Guides gathered at Llanyllyr Mansion to celebrate 100 years of Scouting.

120 young people spent the weekend under canvas and despite a wet start thoroughly enjoyed the camp with the theme of Red Indians. Throughout the weekend the tribes competed against each other to win the most medicine beads and on the Sunday morning out did each other to be the muddiest Brave on site.

The Camp was marked by lots of laughter and good spirits and as the closing ceremony and prayers concluded the weekend we were all captivated by the sight of a Red Kite hovering over the flag pole adding it's own moment of magic.

Midge, Area Commissioner

"13 Beavers from 2nd New Quay and Llanarth Beaver Colony visited the Ceredigion Area Centenary Camp on 22nd September. They took part in many activities including archery, circus skills, making camp gadgets and craft activities. They also played parachute games and joined the rest of the camp for the barbecue in the evening. Despite the mud, the Beavers had a great time and went home happy but tired."
